Kipp Popert and Bailey Bish won the 2024 US Adaptive Open, which concluded on Wednesday, July 10, at Sand Creek Station in Kansas. The USGA tournament took place over three days from July 8 to 10. Popert emerged victorious in the men's category, while Bish won the women's category.

Bailey Bish shot 77 in the final round of the event, finishing at +8 for the week. She registered an impressive four-stroke victory over Kim Moore. Ryanne Jackson settled in third place, followed by Amanda Cunha.

Bish started the event with a 69, but as the tournament progressed, she struggled with her game, shooting 78 in the second round and 77 in the finale. The victory meant a lot to the American golfer, who was at a loss for words to describe her performance.

Speaking to the media, Bish said (via Golf Week):

“If you told me three years ago that I would be the U.S. Adaptive Open champion I would never have believed it. I don’t have words to describe how amazing it is that adaptive golfers are now being recognized in the same way Annika Sorenstam and other very accomplished golfers are.”

Interestingly, two years ago, Bailey Bish watched the tournament on television because she couldn't complete a 54-hole game at the time. However, she shone at the tournament this year and won the trophy.

Meanwhile, Kipp Popert scored -14 after playing three rounds of 65, 66, and 71. The English golfer also won the tournament by four strokes, defeating Korean golfer Simon Lee. Speaking of his win, Popert said (via Golf Week):

“I was looking at the medal on my neck, and I can’t wait to get it back home with the other one. I enjoy all of the pressure. I was like, ‘All right, let’s go show them that we’re still winning this thing despite a little trip up.'”

Although Simon Lee did not win the overall US Adaptive Open, he secured a title in the category division. He won the Intellectual Impairment division after finishing with a score of 10 under, while Natasha Stasiuk secured the title in the women's division.
