South Korean golfer Jiyai Shin won the recently concluded Women's Australian Open on Sunday, December 1. She was phenomenal with her game and registered a comfortable two-shot victory.

Shin shot 70 in the finale to settle for a total of -17. Meanwhile, Ashleigh Buhai shot 68 and jumped one spot on the leaderboard to take second place. She finished with a total of 15-under. Amateur golfer Hyojin Yang secured the third spot on the leaderboard at 7-under.

Notably, it was the second time Jiyai Shin won the ISPS Handa Australian Open (women). She had previously won the tournament in 2013, where she played four rounds of 65, 67, 70, and 72 to clinch an easy two-shot win over Yani Tseng.

Following her recent win, Shin opened up about her performance and said (via AP):

"Now I can breathe. I only had one Australian Open trophy so I am really excited for this next one, especially at this golf course at Kingston Heath. I lost in 2008 to Karrie Webb so now I feel much better.”

Shin started the final round with a birdie on the first hole and then carded a double bogey on the second. She then made two more birdies and an eagle on the fourth. She shot another eagle on the 10th and then made three bogeys and a birdie on the back nine for a round of 70 to win the event.

Sarah Jane Smith secured 6th place while Kelsey Bennett and Minjee Lee tied for 7th along with Stephanie Kyriacou. Hanee Song shot 74 in the final round and slipped down two spots to solo tenth place, followed by Claire Shin finishing T11 with Jenny Shin and Justice Bosio.
