Jenny Shin has withdrawn from the 2024 FM Championship, which boasts a field of 144 players. The FM Championship is the LPGA Tour's ongoing tournament being played at TPC Boston. It started on August 29 and will run through September 1. But Shin won't be able to fight for the $3.8 million purse due to health issues.

After withdrawing from the event, Jenny Shin tweeted on X on August 30, sharing that she strained her left QL muscle. She also mentioned her condition didn't improve even after medication. Hence, she had to withdraw from the FM Championship and rest throughout the week.

“Yesterday morning I strained my left QL muscle and even with the best efforts it didn’t get better this morning. Thought taking inflammatory medications and a good warm up could get me through the round but it just wasn’t getting better through the round. This I’ve made the decision to withdraw and take the rest of the week off. Apologies,” Jenny Shin wrote.

Before round one was canceled due to darkness, Marina Alex led the leaderboard with 4-under and Lauren Coughlin stood in second place with a few others at 3-under.
