Kevin Na was one of 18 LIV Golf members participating in the 2023 Masters. Since LIV was allowed to play, he qualified and was part of the field. However, that is not the case anymore.
He struggled early on Day 1 of the Masters and eventually withdrew. Initially, there was speculation about him withdrawing due to performance, but a new report suggests he might be dealing with an undisclosed injury.
It's unclear at the moment what he's dealing with, but he is officially out of the Masters. The LIV field is now down to 17 members, which dilutes their chance of winning it all as a league.
Na was a long shot to win the Masters. He had some of the lowest odds, according to Forbes:
- Dustin Johnson 2,500 3.8%
- Cameron Smith 2,800 3.4%
- Brooks Koepka 4,400 2.2%
- Joaquin Niemann 7,000 1.4%
- Patrick Reed 7,500 1.3%
- Mito Peirera 11,000 0.9%
- Bryson DeChambeau 13,000 0.8%
- Abe Ancer 14,000 0.7%
- Louis Oosthuizen 14,000 0.7%
- Thomas Pieters 18,000 0.6%
- Sergio Garcia 19,000 0.5%
- Talor Gooch 21,000 0.5%
- Bubba Watson 22,000 0.5%
- Charl Schwartzel 25,000 0.4%
- Harold Varner III 26,000 0.4%
- Phil Mickelson 28,000 0.4%
- Jason Kokrak 34,000 0.3%
- Na 42,000 0.2%
Na also had the lowest odds of winning amongst his LIV Golf counterparts.
Kevin Na isn't worried about his LIV contract
Some LIV Golf members were concerned when the tour upped to 14 events a year. They began and many members signed on for 10 events. This was more than they thought they should be required to play.
However, not everyone is concerned about this. Kevin Na admitted that he wasn't too worried about his LIV contract in any sense:
"It’s a long contract! ’ll have to ask my agent. There is a s***-ton of money out here, and I already got a shit-ton. If you play well, you’re gonna win a s***-ton more. I’m not worrying about the details.”
Suffice to say, Kevin Na is absolutely not in LIV Golf for the money and he's not even worried about exactly how much he stands to earn.
