Former Fox personality Megyn Kelly has blasted the WPGA Tour of Australasia for declaring Breanna Gill, a male trans model, the winner of the Women’s Professional Golf Tournament.
On Monday, she tweeted that trans golfer Breanna Gill’s victory in the Australia Women’s Classic was a “fraud” and said the whole thing was “Immoral”.
"This is a biological man, a fact not even mentioned in much of the major press coverage celebrating “her” win over the actual women in this tournament. It’s a fraud, it’s immoral, and it HAS TO STOP."
The former Fox News personality quoted retweeted a now-protected post from the WPGA Tour of Australasia’s official account, which said:
“Showing nerves of steel, Breanna Gill triumphed in a playoff for her first professional win at the AusWomensClassic!”
Kelly also did a whole show on YouTube dedicated to the incident. She said in her Sirius XM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show" that this decision was 'fraud' and 'immoral'.
Fans react to Megyn Kelly's comments on Breanna Gill
Social media had mixed opinions on Kelly's comments. While few agreed with her, others felt her reaction was unnecessary.
Here's a look at a few of the reactions:
"You've never cared about women's golf a day in your life. This is fake outrage just for likes.."
"Why do you care? Seriously--how does anything about this story negatively impact your life in any way at all. Why can't you be happy for her?"
"I'm on the road every other weekend driving my daughter who plays sports all over the USA to tournaments like hundreds of other parents, all fighting for a chance for their biological daughters to compete at the highest level. And it all can now be stolen by a man."
"More like balls of steel"
"I’m struggling to comprehend how everyone seems to let stuff like this continue to happen. Why is the war on women more clear than ever and instead of stopping men from competing against women…it’s celebrated! Why? Why? Why?!!!"
"The ONLY way this stops is if Biological Women make a stand and boycott these events that allow Biological Men compete…"
"It's strange they don't feel terrible about that."
"I have zero sympathy for all the "real" women that cheer this on. They do so at their own expense."
"Megyn - did you ever think that it was not mentioned in much of the major press coverage because…nobody really cares? Your career arch went from somewhat reasonable news anchor to talking about trans people and CRT every god damn day. Give it a rest."
Former professional college swimmer Riley Gaines tweeted:
"Who's surprised a male is being recognized as the "winner" in the women's category....you're right"
Breanna Gill emerged victorious at the Australian Women's Classic at Bonville Golf Resort in New South Wales after birdieing the final hole to force a playoff, which she eventually won.
With this win, Gill jumped to World No. 393rd from outside the top 500 after claiming her first title since turning professional in 2015. Her previous best finish was runner-up at the 2021 The Players Series Sydney.
