Jason Day joined the US PGA Tour in 2006 at the age of 19. He has been playing on the Tour for almost two decades and has 13 wins with a Major at the 2015 PGA Championship.
Last year, Day revealed the reason for not joining the LIV Golf. The Saudi-backed Tour has poached several PGA Tour players since it started in the year 2022. In a recent interview with Code Sports, he said that he didn't outright reject LIV Golf but explored it as a business option. However, LIV ultimately declined, citing concerns over his frequent injuries.
Day has shown his dislike for the Saudi-backed league. Last year in May, he criticized the no-cut rule of LIV Golf. He said, via Daily Mail:
"I look at it and I say if the best players are supposed to stick around for the weekend, we should play better, and I understand that. Why do we need guaranteed pay? We have played golf our whole lives."
LIV Golf tournaments have no cuts and all the 54 players move to the Sunday play as there are only three rounds on the LIV Tour. Day said:
"I think the majority of the fans out there know that you come in, you play two days. If you don't play well, you're out, you don't get paid. That's just how our lives work."
In the interview, Jason Day said that he was thankful and happy to have stayed on the PGA Tour as it was the perfect spot for him.
In 20 starts on the PGA Tour this year, Day made cuts in 17 of them. He made four top-10 and eight top-25 finishes and finished 33rd in the FedExCup standings.

"I'm extremely excited to be coming back home to Queensland this summer to contest the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland."
Day also represented Australia in the 2024 Paris Olympics in men's golf competition. He tied for ninth at the tournament. He said:
"Wearing the green and gold for Australia at the Olympics in Paris was an extremely proud moment for myself and my family and it will be very special to get back on home soil and play in front of the Aussie fans. I've seen the amazing atmosphere at 'RQ' the past few years and can't wait to experience it for myself."
