Fans on social media reacted to Collin Morikawa's attempts to pull off a creative shot during the second round of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open. The American golfer, who plays right-handed, played a pitch shotb left-handed but then missed the hole.
Morikawa's left-handed attempt was unsuccessful despite the ball being near the hole. The PGA Tour shared a video of the shot with the caption:
"Going lefty. Creativity on display for @Collin_Morikawa."
Some fans in the replies expressed their confusion at the golfer's decision:
"Why???" a fan wrote.
"I'm sure there was a reason, but that seemed unnecessary," another fan commented.
However, one fan added an explanation: there was a bunker on the right side, which probably influenced Morikawa's choice to play left-handed.
"There’s a bunker on the other side that he would’ve been standing down in," the fan wrote.
"I might be missing something but I’m trying to figure out why is he going lefty here," a fan added.
"The amount of talent these tour players have is ridiculous," another fan wrote.
