Will there be a cut in the Wyndham Championship 2024? PGA Tour event rules explored

The Wyndham Championship is a PGA Tour event with a cut format after 36 holes. Once the cut takes place, the entire field will be reduced to the top 65 and ties, who will go to the third and fourth rounds.

Normally, the third and fourth rounds take place on Saturday and Sunday but due to adverse weather conditions at the Wyndham Championship location (Greensboro, North Carolina), the rounds may be delayed.

The first round of the Wyndham Championship was rescheduled to Friday but some players are yet to finish their round since it was canceled due to darkness. The rest of the first round will resume at 7 am ET on Saturday. Round two will begin at 7:30 am ET on Saturday.

Out of the players who completed their first round, Beau Hossler is sitting atop the Wyndham Championship leaderboard with 10-under 60. He shot nine birdies and one eagle in the first round, after which he told Golf Digest he couldn't practice on Thursday due to the inclement weather.

“Basically, I did nothing… Sat inside, watched 'Game of Thrones' for a bit, drank some coffee. My physio, we had some people over at the house and he made chicken parmesan. I guess I'm not great at taking days off, but when it's forced like that, you've kind of got to do it. Maybe I should do it more often,” Beau Hossler said.

Behind Hossler is Billy Horschel at 8-under till hole 16 and Nick Taylor at 7-under till hole 14.

As Beau Hossler leads the Wyndham Championship, Matt Kuchar stands at 6-under in T4 place on the leaderboard. Ben Taylor is tied with Kuchar and Mac Meissner is at T8 with 5-under.
