Golf enthusiasts' eyes are now stuck glued to the screen to binge-watch the newly released golf docuseries, Full Swing. The series highlights the best golfers around the globe, including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. However, the 15-time major champion Tiger Woods missed it.
Although he was not directly involved in the series, the legendary golfer made it to the talks of other players throughout the series. In the sixth episode of Full Swing, Tony Finau and Collin Morikawa revealed that they grew up watching Tiger Woods and that he was their inspiration.
Woods was not part of the first part of the series, but he could be seen in future parts of the series (if made).
Ahead of the release of the most anticipated series of the year, Full Swing producer Paul Martin said that "the door is open for Tiger" in his interview with talkSPORT.
However, Tiger Woods participated in the series in a number of different ways. Martin continued in the interview:
“Every single one of them talked about how much of a hero Tiger was for them. There wasn’t a player that, when we asked that question, ‘Who did you watch growing up? Who was your hero?’ Every single one of our cast said Tiger Woods.”
Tiger Woods is an inspiration to many, even his friend Rory McIlroy, who talked about him in the series.
Full Swing is an eight-episode series released on Wednesday, which is available on Netflix for a global audience.
Who features in Full Swing season 1?
The first season of Full Swing features 13 golfers. The first episode revolves around Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, and they talk about their friendships and how they competed in several tournaments with and against each other.
It's pretty funny to hear Thomas talking about how envious he was of Spieth when they started their career.
McIlroy made appearance in the last episode where he shared his experience and spoke up about the infamous controversy between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
He also revealed that Tiger Woods always sent him the first congratulatory message on his wins. The golfers are best friends and also business partners.
Besides them, LIV golfers Dustin Johnson and Ian Poulter talked about their decision to join the Saudi-backed series. Sahith Theegala and Mito Pereira opened up about their struggle to win the first PGA Tour.
