Anthony Kim joined LIV Golf earlier this year and made his pro golf comeback as a wildcard. The three-time PGA Tour winner left pro golf in 2012 due to injury issues. He made a comeback to pro golf after 12 years and is trying his best to get his game in sync.
Since joining LIV, Kim has become an active golfer on X. Recently, Kim posted a video of him practicing putts on the green with his daughter placing the balls for him. In another video, he is assisting her daughter to make putts and wrote a heartfelt message as a caption.
"These moments yesterday wouldn’t be possible w/out my sobriety, family/friends & effort to change the pattern of behavior that led to addiction. Tomorrow is not promised so have gratitude 4 2day. 1% better," Kim wrote.
During his time away from pro golf, Anthony Kim was dealing with several issues. He never really explained the situations and battles he faced in those 12 years, but he spoke about having "very dark moments" of "dark demons" and being "around some bad people."
However, the 39-year-old golfer fought hard to rise above these things and said he owes a lot to his family members.
"I owe a lot to my wife, my mom, and really, mostly my daughter. When she was born, she came a few months early and the fight that she went through was hard to watch," Kim said. (via The Guardian)
"In that moment, I realized that I have to change my life and the things that I’m doing if I’m going to be able to support her, not financially, but emotionally just be there for her," he added.
When will Anthony Kim play next?
Anthony Kim will compete next in the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago event at the Bolingbrook Golf Club from September 13th. This will be his final event of the 2024 LIV Golf as the individual championship concluded in Chicago.
Kim is ranked 56th in the individual season-long championship and has not received a single point in nine LIV events. So, he has no chance of winning the season-long individual championship.
Golfers finishing 49th and below will face relegation after the 2024 LIV Golf. However, the 39-year-old golfer joined LIV Golf as a wildcard and will probably not receive relegation even after finishing 56th.
The 2024 LIV Golf individual championship is a two-way fight with Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann, as no other golfer has a chance of winning the individual championship. In the team championship, The Crushers GC is leading with a score of 176.50, while Legion XIII is just behind at 176.
