Wyndham Clark is one of 24 PGA Tour players who have committed to TGL, the league led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy that will launch in January 2025. The league is launching its first promotions, and Clark was the star of the most recent.
The 2023 US Open champion answered a series of quick questions for the league's X account, in which he made a hilarious comment about fellow $30 million net worth player (via Celebrity Net Worth) Justin Thomas.
When asked who would be the first player in the league to curse on a hot mic, Clark had no hesitation in answering Thomas. The two-time Major champion is known for his vocal outbursts on the course, especially when things are not going well for him.
Wyndham Clark also mentioned Thomas' name to point out the best-dressed player in the league.
In another funny shot, he singled out Keegan Bradley as the first player to be penalized for missing the time allowed for each shot, one of the TGL's new rules. Bradley is known for his slow game.
But one of the most striking aspects of Clark's answers was that he called himself the best short game and driving player in the league. He also said he would miss his caddie the most.
Wyndham Clark's TGL team, teammates and more
Wyndham Clark leads The Bay Golf Club team representing the Northern California region, including San Francisco. Clark will be joined by fellow Major champion Shane Lowry and rising stars Ludvig Aberg and Min Woo Lee.
All four players are coming off strong seasons in 2024 when the TGL League opens. Clark and Lowry both won PGA Tour events (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Zurich Classic of New Orleans, respectively) and had other strong finishes.
Aberg did not win, but finished in the top 10 eight times, including three runner-up finishes. As for Lee, he had two second-place finishes and won the Australian PGA Championship on the DP World Tour to start the season.
The Bay Golf Club boasts an illustrious list of investors, including National Basketball Association (NBA) stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala. There is also English soccer player John Stones, Formula 1 driver Alex Albon, and Olympic surfers Leonardo Fiorvanti and Kanoa Igarashi.
The lead investor is the Avenue Sports Fund of Marc Lasry, owner of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks.
The TGL League consists of six teams. The Bay Golf Club will be joined by Boston Common Golf, Atlanta Drive Golf Club, Jupiter Links Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club.
Initially, the league will be played on Tuesdays while the PGA Tour plays in Hawaii and on the West Coast. When the tour moves to Florida, the TGL will be played on Mondays through the end of the tour's schedule.
