Xander Schauffele has once again overtaken Rory Mcllroy on the world rankings. After winning The Open Championship 2024, Schauffele jumped from being World No. 3 to World No. 2 for the second time in his career.

Nick Dunlap also saw a jump of 30 spots after he won the 2024 Barracuda Championship.

After turning professional in 2015, Schauffele played his first PGA Tour season in 2017. He broke into the top 10 as per the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) in December 2018 and advanced to the top five three years later. After finishing eighth at the 2024 Masters, he became the third-ranked player for the first time.

In May, Xander Schauffele became the World No. 2 for the first time after he won the 2024 PGA Championship. However, Mcllroy quickly regained the second position after a runner-up finish at the 2024 US Open.

With his win at the 152nd Open, Schauffele has become the second-ranked player for the second time. He was always in contention at The Open Championship but never in the lead until the back nine of the final round at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. He scored 69, 72, 69 and 65 in the 72 holes at the tournament.

Additionally, Russell Henley jumped eight spots from 20th to 12th after a fifth finish at Royal Troon. Meanwhile, Sungjae Im jumped from 24th to 18th after his T7 finish and Shane Lowry jumped from 33rd to 27th after finishing sixth.

Other big jumps as per the OWGR after The Open Championship are Billy Horschel (62nd to 33rd), Justin Rose (67th to 34th), Thriston Lawrence (98th to 71st) and Daniel Brown (272nd to 184th).

Nick Dunlap jumped from 71st to 41st rank after emerging victorious at the 2024 Barracuda Championship. Further, Vince Whaley jumped over 80 spots from 194th to 112th after his runner-up finish at the tournament. Patrick Fishburn who finished third jumped from 291st to 198th.
