Xander Schauffele had the best season of his professional career in 2024. He won two major championships, an achievement that had eluded him for years. Golf.com posted an interview on X where the 31-year-old spoke about his new 'aha' moment while working with Chris Como.
The latter has been instrumental in the former's success that he achieved in 2024. The American coach has previously worked with golfers like Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, and Jason Day. Como started working with Schauffele as his new swing coach in the latter part of 2023.
"I was playing at a decently high level but could never feel like I had enough. Not game, but understanding almost. So when I started working with Chris, it wasn't all there right away. And you know there's a lot of things he wanted me to work on, but as soon as I like, Quail was the first time where, in tournament pressure, I lost by seven. But I was on that back nine, I was starting to hit some shots."
"That was like I'm hitting the shots, you know what I mean? He's told me about that I'm working on, it's coming in like it's been six or seven months or however long it was. But I was like, I'm starting to hit these shots. Like I'm hitting like a high draw out of a bunker. I'm hitting this like low cut with an iron to a right pin. And so for me, that was like a big aha moment of you know, I'm rolling right now..."

Who is Xander Schauffele's new swing coach Chris Como?
