Max Homa is on a break from the grind of the PGA Tour and he is taking his time to support his favourite baseball team, Los Angeles Dodgers. Recently, he clapped back at a San Diego Padres fan who took a jibe at him.
As per Dodgers Insider, Homa grew up watching New York Yankees games as his father John is from New York. However, he started supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers (an LA-based baseball team) as he was always a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers (an LA-based basketball team).
Before Game 4 of the National League Division Series (NLDS), Homa took to X and said that he'd be rooting for the Dodgers. The Dodgers won the match 8-0 against the Padres. After the match, he wrote on X:
"I'm happy I rooted for the Dodgers last night. I will be doing that again tomorrow"
In Game 5 of the NLDS, the Dodgers won the match 2-0 and proceeded to MLB playoffs. Celebrating the win, Max Homa posted a GIF of two animated characters interacting in a playful, sibling-like manner on X. The older sibling is seen giving a playful noogie to the younger one. This is about baseball as the Dodgers treat Pardes like their little brother.
Dodgers and Pardes have long shared a rivalry as both teams are part of the MLB National League West Division and they are located 120 miles apart on I-5. In response to his post on X, a fan took a jibe at the PGA Tour player and wrote:
"It’s like you in the Masters"
Max Homa, who is a fan of Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw quoted the tweet and wrote:
"Yes I have never won a Masters and the Padres have never won a World Series but I have won a championship in San Diego"
Max Homa won the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. Overall, he has had nine professional wins and six on the PGA Tour.
