Justin Thomas didn't have a dream ending to his week at the Hero World Challenge, as he failed to turn his 54-hole lead into a win. He carded a 1-under 71 in the final round to finish at 18-under, securing third place.

On Sunday, December 8, Thomas began the day with a birdie but bogeyed the very next hole. He picked up four more birdies during the round but also made three bogeys. Struggling on the greens, he committed a couple of comical errors on the final day.

Golf Bet Caddie shared one of Justin Thomas' gaffes. Here's the clip:

Fans online had mixed reactions to Justin Thomas' struggles on grass. Here's a look at some reactions:

"Yips," one fan wrote.
"Tough to chunk a putt!!" another fan wrote.
"Hard to watch… was he tryna cut spin that into right to left slip with no room?" this fan commented.
"Should have putted like the rest of us," another user remarked.
"Weight is not staying on his left side. This causes the body to stop rotating and also the low point of the swing to be behind the ball. That'll be $1000, I'll take a cheque but cash would be nice," this fan opined.
"I suck so I'm allowed to duff chips; this guy is a professional & can chip better than me when he's blindfolded," one fan wrote.

"I felt like I got a couple bad breaks" - Justin Thomas reflects on his disappointing day at the Hero World Challenge

During the post-round interview, Justin Thomas reflected on his poor finish at the Hero World Challenge.

"It's just disappointing," he said. "I would have liked to put a little more heat obviously on Scottie going in the back nine. You know, I felt like I got a couple bad breaks there on the par 3s, the wind completely died or switched on 5.
"But I mean, you know, obviously I can't expect to have good things happen when I'm leading by 1 over Scottie and only shooting 1 under on Sunday," he added.

Thomas added that he was happy to be back in contention although accepting that he was still far from his best.

"I mean, I didn't do a good job of performing and just playing better today, but I mean, it's always fun to be in the final group of a tournament. If I keep doing it more often, it will happen eventually," he said.

Thomas earned $300,000 for the solo third-place finish at Albany Golf Club.
