"You can pick any other day:" Tom Kim reveals his only request for Jeeno Thitikul in the outfit department

Tom Kim and Jeeno Thitikul starred at the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational this week as playing partners at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. In the 16-team mixed-gender event, the duo stood in contention and finished second to leave fans in awe of their playing chemistry.

During the event, Kim and Thitikul were dubbed "Tom and Jerry" as an ode to their dynamic. The name stemmed from wardrobe choices throughout the tournament. Both golfers coordinated outfits every day to encourage team spirit and morale.

According to an interview with the LPGA Tour, Thitikul revealed she called Kim multiple times in the week leading up to the event to plan "matchy-matchy" outfits. During one of their calls, the PGA Tour star asked her to save the color blue for the final round. She obliged to Kim's superstition of wearing blue on Sundays.

Speaking about the conversation, Kim said (via LPGA Tour):

"I'm sure if you look at past photos, on Sundays, I always wear the same color. I told her you can pick any other day, just allow me to wear my Sunday outfit."

Thitikul and Kim's playing styles matched up perfectly this week. The former was confident in the latter's ball-striking, which gave her easy putts to hole in the alternate-shot format match style.

"I think the big thing is, we've known each other for such a long time, so it's kind of normal golf. We're not feeling any pressure towards one another. We're going out there and having fun. I think the comfortability, it makes especially alternate shot so much easier. You definitely don't want to feel uncomfortable putting your partner in a spot. I think just President Cups, Ryder Cups, Solheim Cups, when you pair yourself up, stats play a role, but also being comfortable with your partner is such a big thing.”
