"You can't pull the trigger until everything is perfect"- George Bryan shares his eye-opening Q-school experience

George Bryan IV and Wesley Bryan are one of the most well-known golf siblings. While Wesley is a PGA Tour golfer, George primarily focuses on his YouTube content revolving around golf. The siblings also have a YouTube Channel called Bryan Bros Golf which boasts 435k subscribers. Currently, George is trying to earn a spot on the PGA Tour by competing in the Q-school.

The Monday Qualifiers, a prominent golf account on X (formerly Twitter), shared a video from the first stage of PGA Tour's Q School on October 19, where a golfer was seen anxious on the tee and continuously wiping his hands with a towel.

"When that third can of Red Bull hits. (Yes, this is real. Yes, this is from Q-school. And Yes, this is actually an improvement, I’ve caddied in a group w him in a KFT event)."

Replying to this video, George Bryan shared his experience and revealed the stress the tournament brings.

"I’ll shout it from the rooftops, but unless you have played in high level competitions, you wouldn’t really understand. You can get stuck and feel like you can't pull the trigger unless everything is perfect, and tournament stress brings that. Happened to me this week at Q School."

Did George Bryan qualify for the Q-School 2nd stage?

George Bryan competed and qualified for the second stage of Q-School. In the first stage of Q-school at Bermuda Run Country Club - East Course, he scored 70 on day one and started his event on a promising note but fell back a bit as he carded 74 on day two, putting his qualification in jeopardy briefly.

The 36-year-old golfer made an incredible comeback on the final two days as he scored 69 and 68, respectively, to finish T15. He made it to the second stage as the top 21, and ties qualified for the next stage.

Sean Walsh, another YouTube golfer qualified for the second stage from the Texas Rockwall. He carded 69, 72, 71, and 74, respectively, in the four rounds to finish T18 for the event. Walsh is part of the Good Good YouTube golf group which has over 1.6 million subscribers.

Other notable golfers who made it to the second stage on Friday are Brett Stegmaier, Willie Mack III, Gavin Hall, Cristian DiMarco, Jake Hall, Peter Fountain, etc.

The second stage of the Q-school begins in November, as there are still five first-stage tournaments to be played. Here is the schedule for the remaining first-stage Q-school events.

  • • Oct. 22-25, Magnolia Grove (Crossing), Semmes, Alabama
  • • Oct. 22-25, Bear Creek GC, Murrieta, California
  • • Oct. 22-25, Champions Pointe GC, Henryville, Indiana
  • • Oct. 22-25, Abilene CC, Abilene, Texas
  • • Oct. 29-Nov. 1, CC of Ocala, Ocala, Florida

Once they reach the final qualifiers the top 5 golfers will receive a PGA Tour card while the next 40 golfers will receive a Korn Ferry Tour card.
