“One of the best swings he’s taken”: Tiger Woods’ ex-coach left impressed by Phil Mickelson’s 300-yard drive at LIV Golf’s Greenbrier event

Phil "Lefty" Mickelson is set to tee off the final round of the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational at Greenbrier with a 36-hole score of five under par. Tied for 27th place on the leaderboard with two other players, the former PGA Tour star has defied expectations at the age of 54, leaving fans astonished with his skill.

During the second round, the World Golf Hall of Famer was faced with a daunting 300-yard shot to the green. Mickelson proceeded to play a driver off the deck, demonstrating incredible skill as the ball took four bounces on the fairway before rolling onto the green to sit with a 15-footer putt.

Tiger Woods' former coach, Hank Haney, was left impressed by Mickelson's shot. He shared a video of the LIV Golf star's shot with his 146.7 thousand followers on his X (formerly Twitter) handle and declared the driver off the deck to be "one of the best" swings Mickelson has ever produced. At the LIV Golf Invitational in Singapore earlier this year in May, Mickelson showcased his skill once again with another perfectly executed driver off the deck shot. Faced with a 300-yard approach, the 54-year-old pitched the ball onto the front of the green, although unfortunately, the ball rolled through and settled on the back fringe.
