Paige Spiranac is set to be a Super Bowl correspondent. The world's top-ranked golf influencer is set to take over for Lisa Guerrero, an American journalist, actress, former sportscaster, artist, and model. She's been doing Super Bowl coverage for Inside Edition, one of the longest-running syndicated magazines.
There's no word on whether or not Spiranac is permanently going to take on this role from Guerrero or if the two might team up for coverage in the future. Regardless, Spiranac is thrilled with the opportunity.
Spiranac tweeted:
"Excited to announce I’m the guest Super Bowl corespondent for Inside Edition this week! Catch me on TV to see all the fun!"
Spiranac started the year by saying she needed to diversify her content, which primarily consisted of modeling and golf. She's knowledgeable in the sports world, as she shows her followers from time to time, and this will be an excellent opportunity for her to flex those muscles.
For Inside Edition, this is a major addition. Inside Edition has a huge audience already, but Spiranac carries one herself. She has nearly 800 thousand Twitter followers and nearly four million on Instagram.
She also launched her own subscription platform for fans to interact with her and it's been successful. She will likely translate to the big screen with Inside Edition easily and make this a great move for both parties.
Paige Spiranac predicted who would win the Super Bowl
In early January, Paige Spiranac made a lot of sports predictions about the upcoming year. She said in a video:
"The [Philadelphia] Eagles? They're going to win the Super Bowl. And you know what? I like a little TCU upset in the National Championship."
She added:
"Rafa Nadal is going to win a major and then retire this year. Coco Gauff is going to get her first major title. The Brooklyn Nets are going to win the NBA championship and LeBron is going to be traded."
She continued making bold predictions, including a big one for the game of golf, saying:
"Rory McIlroy is going to win the Masters and we will also see a LIV player with a major title. Bruins to win the Stanley Cup. The [New York] Yankees? They're going to win the World Series. Purdue Men's Basketball will win the National Championship and that's all I got for this year."
Some of these, like TCU winning it all, didn't even come close to happening. Others still have a chance. To Spiranac's credit, she did predict the Philadelphia Eagles would win the Super Bowl two games before they were even in the big game.
Oddsmakers believe her prediction will come true. The Eagles are currently favored by 1.5 points over the Kansas City Chiefs and Paige Spiranac believes Philly will emerge victorious.
She's come a long way from predicting the Super Bowl on Twitter to being a legitimate correspondent for a major outlet. What else does 2022 have in store for the biggest personality in golf?
