Paige Spiranac opens up about her beauty struggles

Paige Spiranac sat down with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for an exclusive interview to discuss her evolution in the modeling and influencer industry. She stated that her past definitions of beauty were centered around perfectionism and symmetry.

The Colorado native went on to state that her perception of beauty and its standards have changed drastically since being active on social media. With over 5.6 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, she disclosed that she tried to change her appearance multiple times for content purposes. Spiranac also talked about how her new approach to social media includes embracing herself and her features.

Spiranac revealed that she feels the most confident and beautiful when she is fresh out of a workout session or out on the golf course. She said (via Sports Illustrated Swimsuit):

“I feel confident and beautiful when I just finished a workout and I’m feeling accomplished and strong, or when I’m out on the golf course. There’s all these different times in my life where I do feel beautiful, and I feel confident, and I feel powerful. It’s really just a mindset in what you’re doing, and it could be really any time. You could be wearing sweats with no makeup. You could be dolled up. You could be [just as you are] after a workout. Like, it really just depends on your mindset and how you’re feeling in that moment.”

She spoke about relating with other women regarding feelings of insecurity. The former professional golfer stated that she goes to therapy, works out, limits screen time on her devices, and tries out different hobbies to combat and deal with her struggles. She is also actively trying to be more intuitive with her physical and eating habits to feel more confident and happy.

When asked if she has any advice for other women who are facing a similar challenge, she said (via Sports Illustrated Swimsuit):

"Don’t let anyone dim your light. Don’t let anyone stop you from being confident. That’s one of the hardest things, is allowing yourself to feel confident. There’s no shame in feeling confident. There’s no shame in feeling good and feeling yourself"
