Patrick Reed shares a love-hate relationship with fans. Nobody can dispute, though, that he has achieved success with his methods and has won a number of important competitions.
In addition to helping the United States in multiple Ryder Cups, he has won a Major Championship and the esteemed Masters at Augusta National in 2018. He joined LIV Golf in 2022, and the criticism he received for the same was immense. However, he remained firm in his decision and did not let the outside noise affect his game. His performance in the 2022, and 2023 LIV Golf seasons was impressive, as his team, the 4 Aces, won the first couple of team championships.
Usually, Reed lets the club do the talking and denies giving much attention to trolls. Recently, while talking to Golf.com, he revealed the virtue that makes him successful.
"I think the biggest thing is self-belief. You have to really believe you belong out here. Believe you can win," he said.
Furthermore, he said that self-belief comes only through hard work and making oneself uncomfortable.
"And the only way that’s going to happen is by working really hard and keeping yourself uncomfortable. I feel like I’ve always done that through practice, giving myself bad lies, nestled down a little bit, maybe a little into the grain, on rough edges. I practice being uncomfortable because when I do get those lies I’m like, I’ve done this before," he revealed.

Reed is 30th as far as the individual standings are concerned, but the 2024 LIV Golf season is just halfway through, and there are 6 more events remaining. Hence, he will hope to make a mark.
In 2023, he finished 6th in the individual standings, scoring 123 points with five top-5 finishes. In team dynamics, the 2018 Masters Champion plays for 4 Aces along with Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez, and Harold Varner III. This is one of the most formidable sides, having won the team championship twice.
However, the 4 Aces are struggling to replicate their previous performance as their star golfers, Patrick Reed and Dustin Johnson, have struggled for form.
Along with LIV Golf, Reed has competed in both the Majors of the year and finished T13 at Masters. He did not have a great outing in the recent 2024 PGA Championship, as he finished in T53.
