The 2024 Valspar Championship winner, Peter Malnati, won after nearly a decade on the professional tour. He turned professional in 2009 and initially played on the mini-tours, finally joining the Web.com Tour in 2013.
In the 2013 Web.com Tour season money list, he finished in 18th place, earning his PGA Tour card, but failed to keep his card for the next season because on the FedEx Cup points rankings, he came in 178th.
For the 2015 season, he regained his PGA Tour card through Web.com Tour finals and by November, he had won his first professional win on the PGA Tour at the Sanderson Farms Championship by two shots, for a score of 270, under 18. This was his seventh professional win. As of April 2024, he had competed in 261 PGA Tour events and missed the cut in 134 of them, or 51% of his total appearances.
He surprised everyone when he won the 2024 Valspar Championship against Cameron Young for a score of 272, under 12, by two strokes, his second PGA Tour win, and eighth overall. His Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) as of April 2024 are No. 69.
Peter Malnati Caddie
Peter Malnati’s caddie is Chad Antus as of April 2024.
Antus began caddying 22 years ago and for Malnati in 2017. Before him, Antus collaborated with golfers, including Nick Thompson, Aaron Goldberg, Heath Slocum, Doug LaBelle, Chris Tidland, and Brett Wetterich. Antus won his first professional victory in 2008 or 2009 on the Korn Ferry Tour, reportedly.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Antus completed his early schooling at Latrobe High School. He was accepted to Clarion University of Pennsylvania after graduating in 1991. The seasoned caddie did not, however, compete in collegiate golf but directly began his caddying journey in 2002.
