Nelly Korda has dominated the LPGA Tour this year in some style. She impressed both fans and colleagues on the golf course, with the highlight of her incredible season being her five consecutive wins. Amid her successful season, Sports Illustrated Magazine took the opportunity to place the World No. 1 on a new platform in its annual Swimsuit issue.
Following its release of a photo of Korda posing in a black swimsuit, the magazine has now given its 2.1 million followers on Instagram a look at Korda's next photo. In the latest release from SI, Korda can be seen wearing a white bikini with the sea in the background. The golfer's photo from the shoot was posted on the magazine's official account with the caption:
"She is beauty, she is grace, she is Nelly Korda. ✨The 26-year-old is currently the No. 1-ranked female golfer in the world and the first name we’ve added to our 2025 SI Swimsuit roster!🏌️♀️"
Nelly Korda, the 2024 Rolex Player of the Year, was photographed by Ben Horton earlier this week in Boca Raton, Florida. Olympic medalists Gabby Thomas, Eileen Gu, and Suni Lee, will also join her for the 2025 SI Swimsuit issue. Fans will be able to see the athletes in the magazine's annual feature issue in Spring 2025.
Nelly Korda named 2024 Rolex Player of the Year
Nelly Korda has tasted victory six times in the 2024 LPGA Tour season. With five of them being back-to-back wins, she shares the record for consecutive wins with LPGA legends Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez.
With the number of tournaments still left to be played this year dwindling, the LPGA Tour announced Korda as the 2024 Rolex Player of the Year earlier this week. She leads the official world rankings with a whopping 425.23 points, with Lilia Vu following with 293.64 points.
The 25-year-old is the 27th player in history to win the title and the second player of American descent in a row, with Lilia Vu winning the award in 2023. This is the first time since Betsy King and Beth Daniel did it in 1993 and 1994 that American players have won the award twice in a row.
Expressing her gratitude at being awarded the honor, Korda said (via LPGATour.com),
“Winning the Rolex Player of the Year means so much to me. This season has had its highs and challenges, and I'm just really grateful for the people around me who have helped me get here. It’s been a team effort, and I’m proud to share this moment with them.”
A few weeks ago, Korda pulled out of the LPGA Tour's Asian leg, citing a minor neck injury sustained during practice. The Olympian will re-enter the field for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship that will run from November 18 to 24 at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
