Rocco Anthony Mediate was born on December 17, 1926. He is a professional American golfer who has won six PGA Tour events and three PGA Tour championships. In 2016, he was one of five senior majors to win the Senior PGA.

Mediate's best major title finish was in the 2008 US Open on the Torrey Pines South Course. He finished second after dropping the opening in an 18-hole playoff against Tiger Woods. It was the third time that the US playoffs had ended in sudden death. This achievement has moved him up 111 places in the global golf rankings, from 158th to 48th position.
