His most recent event was the 2024 Masters Tournament, where he failed to make the cut, finishing tied for 82nd place. This was his first major appearance.
After turning pro in 2020, Hisatsune participated in the Japan Challenge Tour in 2020 and 2021, where he won three matches and finished first on the money list. During the 2022 season, he competed on the Japan Golf Tour, finishing tied for second place at the ASO Iizuka Challenged Golf Tournament.
Hisatsune began the European Tour qualifying school in November 2022, earning a spot on the 2023 European Tour after tying for seventh place. Two weeks later, he trailed Cameron Smith by three strokes in the tie for second place at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship.
Hisatsune won the 2023 Cazoo Open de France at Le Golf National, marking his maiden win on the European Tour. He won by two strokes over Jeff Winther and Jordan Smith after shooting 66 in the final round.
He was also chosen as the 2023 European Tour season's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in November. Hisatsune became the first player from Japan to win the award, defeating Luvdig Aberg, Tom Kim, Dan Bradbury, Dan Brown, Daniel Hillier, and Tom McKibbin.
Hisatsune joined the PGA Tour for the 2024 season by placing 17th in the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2023. He played in the Sony Open in January 2024, his first tournament as a full PGA Tour member, and finished tied for 30th place.
As of April 2024, he had played in 11 events, making the cut in seven of them. His best finish was at the American Express, where he finished in 11th place with a score of 265, under 23.
Ryo Hisatsune’s Caddie
Ryo Hisatsune’s caddie is Taiga Tabuchi as of April 2024.
Unfortunately, there is no clear information available about Tabuchi; besides that, he’s Hisatsune’s caddie. Also, his girlfriend, Rirua Furukawa, has been his caddie in a few of the events and often travels with him. She even went with him and Tabuchi to the 2024 Masters Tournament, as per the DP World Tour (European Tour).
