Sam Horsfield

Sam Horsfield is a professional golfer from England who competes on the European Tour. He has lived in the United States since he was five. Although he was selected to participate in the 2015 Walker Cup at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, he withdrew two weeks before it began. It was later reported that he was worried about being allowed to return to the United States after the event due to concerns about his visa.

Horsfield turned professional in May 2017, and the following year, he earned a place on the European Tour by being the medalist at the 2017 European Tour Qualifying School. In 2018, he had an excellent start to the season with a 4th place finish in the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth and a second-place finish at the Tshwane Open, where he was two strokes behind George Coetzee. He also tied for 5th place in the Sky Sports British Masters and 52nd in the Order of Merit that season.

In August 2020, Horsfield won his first European Tour event at the Hero Open, beating Thomas Detry by one shot. Two weeks later, he won his second European Tour event at the Celtic Classic in Wales, finishing two strokes ahead of Detry, who was the runner-up again.

In May 2022, Horsfield won the Soudal Open in Belgium, his third European Tour victory. He also placed 5th in the inaugural LIV Golf event at Centurion Club in London, winning $975,000.
