American professional golfer Samuel Richard Ryder, born on December 15, 1989, competes on the PGA Tour. Sam attended Stetson University and studied finance there. He was born in Winter Park, Florida.

In 2014 and 2015, Sam participated in the PGA Tour Canada. He qualified for the 2016 Web.com Tour after placing fourth in the PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit in 2015.

Sam won his first Web.com tournament, the Pinnacle Bank Championship, in July 2017, finishing eight strokes ahead of the competition. He earned a spot on the PGA Tour for 2018 by finishing second in the 2017 Web.com Tour regular season rankings.

Sam placed 107th in the standings in 2019 to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs for a second time. He finished third at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and at the Safeway Open, he tied for fourth.

Sam again earned a spot in the FedExCup Playoffs in 2020, this time placing 108th overall. At the TPC Scottsdale's 16th hole in 2022, Sam became the 10th player to ace it during the Phoenix Open.

In terms of major championships, Sam Ryder did not compete in the majority of them, and when he did, he did not make the cut. Sam has not competed in the Masters Tournament or The Open Championship, but he has played in the US Open in 2017 and 2021, as well as the PGA Championship in 2023, in which he failed to make the cut.
