Seamus Power

Seamus Power was born in Waterford, Ireland and started playing golf at a young age. He won the Irish Youth Championship twice as an amateur before attending East Tennessee State University, where he won three times, including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in 2007 and 2010.

After graduating from ETSU, Power played on mini-tours to qualify for the Web.com Tour. He won twice on the third-level eGolf Professional Tour in 2014 and qualified for the 2015 Web.com Tour through the Qualifying School.

Power had two top-10 finishes on the Web.com Tour and finished 72nd on the money list, earning a spot in the 2016 Tour. He won his first Web.com Tour event, the United Leasing & Finance Championship, in May 2016, becoming the first Irish player to do so.

Seamus Power's Caddie

Seamus Power’s caddie is Simon Keelan as of 2023. Keelan, a former Monkstown Golf Club professional, has been Power’s caddie since 2019.

They've grown as a team and have been in the PGA Tour winner's circle for the first time in 2021 at the Barbasol Championship.

"I've known Simon for over 20 years at this point through Munster panels and that," Power said on his fitness coach Mike Carroll's Fit for Golf podcast.

Power and Keelan grew up playing junior golf together in Ireland, and Power has credited Keelan for his recent ascent in professional golf. Power finished 11th at the US Open which is a pre-tournament favorite for the Open Championship at St. Andrews.

Séamus Power acknowledges that his collaboration with Cork caddie Simon Keelan has been a crucial factor in his rise to PGA Tour stardom.

The West Waterford (34) man began working with the former Monkstown Golf Club professional at the end of 2019 and their close friendship has paid dividends on the course, with the highlight being his first PGA Tour victory in the Barbasol Championship, which earned him a spot in this week's $8.2 million (€7.25 million) Sentry Tournament of Champions.

During a podcast with fitness coach Mike Carroll, Power expressed his admiration for his caddie Keelan, saying, "It's amazing. I underestimated the difference between just having someone that's Irish and also someone you've known a long time." Power and Keelan have known each other since they were junior golfers 20 years ago. Since they teamed up at the end of 2019, the golfer from West Waterford has climbed the ranks from 446th to 73rd in the world.
