As the 2024 PGA Championship concluded, the excitement for the 2024 US Open has already begun, which is the next Major championship. The 2024 US Open will be played at Pinehurst Course No. 2, with the final qualifying about to begin.
The final qualifying events will be played across three venues on Monday (May 20), with some prominent names, especially from LIV Golf, competing for a spot in the 2024 US Open.
The names include Sergio Garcia, Abraham Ancer and Patrick Reed. All three golfers will tee up in a 36-hole qualifier at Dallas Athletic Club in Texas. The LIV Golfers will be hoping to earn a spot at the next Major championship via this route.
Fireball GC skipper Garcia will be hopeful of repeating his heroics of 2023, where he made it to the event through qualifiers as he shot nine-under in the 36-hole qualifier.
The Spanish golfer would want to continue playing the US Open without a break. He has been competing in this Major consecutively for the last 24 years, and the Spanish golfer would be hopeful of making it a silver jubilee.
Another LIV Golfer, Patrick Reed, will compete in the qualifiers as his five-year exemption after winning the 2018 Masters to the Major championships expired last year.
Qualifying was not an issue for Abraham Ancer until last year, as he was inside the world's top 60 and finished T54 for the event. However, this year, the Mexican golfer is not inside the world's top 60 to receive an exemption. Hence, he has to compete in the final qualifiers to receive a spot in the upcoming Major.
Along with this trio, Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, Danny Lee, Kevin Na and Caleb Surrat are some of the LIV Golfers competing in the final qualifying for the upcoming Major championship at Pinehurst.
