Greater Noida, Oct 29 (IANS) Bangalore’s Sharmila Nicollet fired a five under 67 to lead after Day 1 at the Rs.5 lakh Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour in the Jaypee Greens Golf Course here Tuesday.
Trailing Sharmila by a stroke was Delhi’s Vani Kapoor.
Sharmila had a brilliant round scoring the lowest total. With an impressive score, Sharmila looks to be in great form post her return nursing an ankle injury. Her round consisted of six birdies on the second, fifth, eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th holes followed by a single bogey on the 17th hole.
Vani’s total was of four under 68 consisting of five birdies on the fifth, sixth, ninth, 10th and 11th followed by a bogey on the 16th.
Amateur Millie Saroha was third with a total score of two under 70. Chandigarh’s Saniya Sharma was fourth with even par score of 72 and Rani Sonti was fifth with a score of three over 75 after 18 holes.
