Shriners Children's Open

In Nevada, there's a PGA Tour golf event called the Shriner's Children's Open, which was founded 40 years ago, in 1983. It was held in October of each year in Las Vegas and is the fourth event of the Tour's 2019-20 wrap-around season. The present location is the TPC Summerlin, which is about 2,700 feet (820 meters) above sea level on average. It is west of metropolitan Las Vegas. Originally held over five rounds (90 holes) across multiple courses, it was referred to by different names. It had the largest purse on tour when it was launched in 1983, at $750,000. In October 1996, Tiger Woods won his first PGA Tour match in Las Vegas, defeating 1993 champion Davis Love III in a playoff. In 2004, the format was modified to 72 holes.

The tournament declared in 2007 that it would be run by the Shriners Hospitals for Children and that its volunteer organization, the Las Vegas Founders, would no longer be engaged. The event's primary sponsor for two years, Fry's Electronics, decided to focus on a second tournament in Arizona that it was already sponsoring the next year and annulled its association with it. The tournament was shifted to early May of 1986, late March of 1985, and mid-October of 1990. The trophy is traditionally presented to the champion by two showgirls as part of the tournament's ceremony.

He will return to the Masters in 2025 in addition to receiving the money and a two-year exemption. Poston received $1.26 million as the winner's share of the $7 million purse.

Who won the PGA Shriners Children's Open in 2023?

Tom Kim, who won at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada, to capture his third PGA Tour title, emerged victorious in the 2023 Shriners Children's Open. Of the $8,400,000 purse, he took home the $1,512,000 winner's share.

Reigning as the youngest player to win three PGA Tour titles since Tiger Woods, Kim won the tournament by a single stroke at 20-under 264. This marks his second consecutive victory in the Las Vegas event. After making a birdie on the 72nd hole, Adam Hadwin moved up to a solo second place on 19-under par, breaking a five-way tie for second. Alex Noren, Eric Cole, J.T. Poston, and Taylor Pendrith tied for third place.
