Tiger Woods is the PGA Tour's all-time leader in career earnings with more than $120 million. The figure is even more remarkable when you consider that the purses Woods played with in his prime were much lower than today's.
To illustrate, Golf Digest journalist Jamie Kennedy calculated what Tiger Woods would have earned in the 2000 season (arguably the best of his career) if the purses then were those of 2024. The result was a massive $92 million.
In the 2000 season, Tiger Woods won 11 tournaments worldwide, including three major championships. He also finished in the top 10 11 times, including a tie for fifth at the Masters Tournament. At the time, his earnings reached $10.7 million, and his biggest paycheck was the one he received for winning the WGC NEC Invitational ($1 million).
Not all of the tournaments that Tiger Woods played in 2000 are still played today. However, Kennedy equated them to events of a similar nature played on the same tours and/or venues.
According to this comparison, Woods would have had 14 paychecks of more than $1 million during the season, plus bonuses for winning the FedEx Cup, the Comcast Business Top 10, and the Player Impact Program (PIP), which did not exist in 2000. His total earnings would have been $92,333,970.

It also does not include the checks he receives from his sponsors. Woods was the leading professional player sponsored by Nike for 26 years, generating a reported $500 million in revenue.
Woods' other major sponsors include TaylorMade, Bridgestone Golf and Monster Energy. After ending his relationship with Nike in early 2024, Woods launched his own golf apparel brand, Sun Day Red, which he currently wears.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Woods has a net worth of $800 million. His net worth includes companies such as TGR Design and TGR Live, as well as the newly launched TGL League.
