The 151st Open Championship is quickly approaching, with the magnificent Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosting the year's last major. Cameron Smith defeated Rory McIlroy to win the Open last year, shooting a final-round 64 in St Andrews to secure a historic triumph. He'll return to Liverpool to defend the Claret Jug against another strong lineup. McIlroy, who won The Open at Hoylake in 2014, will be back in the hunt for his fifth major victory. He came extremely close to winning the U.S. Open in Los Angeles in mid-June but fell one stroke short of champion Wyndham Clark.

The Open 2024 Date and start time

The 152nd grand edition of The Open Championship will be held from Thursday, 18thJuly, onwards and go on till Sunday, 21stJuly. The Open will take place at the Royal Troon Club, situtated n Troon, South Ayrshire. Play will start at 7:30 am on the opening two days and at 08:00 am over the weekend. The Open 2024 Leaderboard

After a flawless final round, Xander Schauffele emerged victorious at The Open, winning his second major championship of the year at Troon, fending off Justin Rose's determined charge.

The Open 2024 Course details

The legendary Royal Troon Golf Club in Troon, Scotland is prepared to host the 152nd Open. The competition is scheduled to happen between July 14 and July 21. The Royal Troon club has alreadt been the host to the Open over 10 times, the course is among the most well-liked among golfers worldwide. Royal Troon's Old Course opened in 1878 and was extended to 18 holes ten years later. Before the 1923 Open, the course was renovated by five-time champion golfer James Braid. Troon is similar to St Andrew's Old Course, created in the same classic, link course style. It starts through some of the most beautiful links countries of any Open setting, and finishes with a back nine that is as challenging as any finale.
