India's Avani Prashanth has made headlines by earning her spot on the Ladies European Tour (LET) for the 2025 season. Following the conclusion of the Lalla Aicha Q-School in Marrakech, the 18-year-old prodigy attributed part of her success to a move inspired by Scottie Scheffler.

Over the years, the Asian Games star has developed a distinctive move with her feet in her swing. The self-taught unorthodox yet effective technique closely resembles Scheffler's iconic footwork.

Golf Monthly's Garrett Johnston had the pleasure of interviewing the All India Ladies and Amateur winner following her shared 16th-place finish at the Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden Golf courses. Prashanth said (via X @JohnstonGarrett):

"If you see my swing, I have the Scottie Scheffler move. So I've got this jump in my swing and that's where I think I get it [distance] from. No one taught me that. A lot of people have tried to take that out of my swing. But, the coach I work with right now, Laurence Brotheridge, is the only one that's let it stay like that and I think that's what's made the difference."

Prashanth has been under world-renowned golf instructor Laurence Brotheridge's guidance since August 2018. She will take lessons from the United Kingdom-based coach virtually until she gets to be under his wing at the Leadbetter Academy in Florida next year.

The teenager's journey up the ranks to the LET is a true testament to her determination and self-belief. Her unique ability to adapt and embrace swing traits inspires young golfers all over the world to trust their mechanics.

As one of the youngest players to secure her LET card, Prashanth is now navigating the challenge of balancing her golf career with her education. In the interview with Johnston, she expressed gratitude for the flexibility her high school in India offers with her demanding tournament schedule. Starting next month, she will compete full-time on the Tour.
