LPGA star Anna Nordqvist has called Roger Federer her biggest inspiration. She was talking to the Strait Times ahead of the HSBC Women's Championship.
When asked about her biggest inspiration, Nordqvist said:
"Roger Federer about the way he carries himself as an athlete. I love Adam Scott for the same thing and I also draw a lot of inspiration from my family."
Roger Federer is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time not only for his achievements, but also for his demeanor on the court irrespective of victory or defeat. Federer retired last year after a career spanning over two decades that saw him win 20 Grand Slams.
Nordqvist was also asked a few candid questions, which she answered very intelligently. The 35-year-old said that if she wasn't a golfer, she'd be playing handball, although she never played it growing up.
What's next for Anna Nordqvist?
Anna Nordqvist will be competing at the HSBC Women’s World Championship at the Sentosa Golf Club, which starts on Thursday, March 2. Eighteen of the world's top 20 professionals, including World No. 1 Lydia Ko and Nelly Korda, will feature at the tournament.
