Justin Thomas is launching drives in Mexico
We have already witnessed 400 yard drives on the PGA Tour; could we see the 500 yard barrier being broken at this week's WGC-Mexico Championships? Probably not, but Mexico City's Club de Golf Chapultepec sits about a mile-and-a-half above sea level. Which means that there's very limited spin and resistance in the air translating to a lot of air time.
Justin Thomas is the perfect example. On Tuesday, Thomas posted this photo of hit TrackMan stats from the range. And they're mighty impressive:
Thomas is pound-for-pound one of the longest hitters on tour, but a 355.9-yard carry? That's just ridiculous.
Let’s wait and watch until the real tournament begins on Thursday for some more big hitters to challenge Justin Thomas.
