On December 4 2024, Kevin Kisner was named as NBC's lead golf analyst for the PGA Tour's 2025 season. During an exclusive interview with Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio's A New Breed of Golf with Michael Breed, the Ryder Cup vice-captain revealed an unusual request he made while securing his role with the broadcasting network.

The host, Michael Breed, recalled a conversation with Kisner at the Sea Island Golf Club, and pointed out the 40-year-old's contract request for NBC. Kisner wished to do the role of a golf analyst only if he'd be able to cover a football game. When Breed asked if he was able to see the unusual request through, the Presidents Cup veteran said (via Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio):

"Well, they laughed at it at first. They said maybe on Peacock and maybe a sideline reporter, so that might be where we settled at the very end."

The response left the host laughing. Breed was then quick to poke fun at Kisner, highlighting NBC's lack of Southeastern Conference (SEC) football coverage. The avid college football fan replied (via Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio):

"Uh, no. I told them maybe I'll call Northern Illinois because they can at least beat Notre Dame."

The lighthearted exchange reflects the 4-time PGA Tour winner's trademark wit and passion for football. While NBC might not yet have plans to feature Kisner in their football coverage, he is thrilled to take up a spot in the booth as a golf analyst.

How is Kevin Kisner going to balance his new role at NBC along with playing on the PGA Tour?

NBC will feature a rotating booth filled with some of the PGA Tour's best players like Luke Donald and Brandel Chamblee, for their tournament coverages in 2025. Kevin Kisner will join in this year following his incredible debut as an analyst for the 2024 edition of The Sentry.

Kisner will take on the commentators' booth in ten tournaments that he is not exempt from playing. According to NBC's press release, he will also cover the US Open and The Open Championship along with the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the Players Championship.

Here's what the Ryder Cup vice-captain had to say about NBC's flexibility (via NBC Sports):

"They were so supportive of that, and that's why I was willing to negotiate with the, They want me there for the big events that I'm not exempt into, and they've been accommodating if I do get in. It's a great deal for me."

As Kevin Kisner takes on his new role as a golf analyst for NBC, viewers are looking forward to his sharp insights and humorous, both on and off the golf course.
