Tiger Woods posted a second-round score of six over par 77 to sit tied for 149th place and has missed the cut at the 2024 Open Championship. Despite leaving Scotland early due to a disappointing performance, this week marked the first time that Woods has competed in all four Major championships since 2019.

Following a near-fatal car crash in 2021, Woods was out of the game for nearly three years. After a long and complicated recovery and rehab, the three-time Open Championship winner had vowed to play in at least one tournament per month along with playing all Major championships this year.

According to Sports Illustrated's golf writer, Bob Harig, Tiger Woods has updated his tournament schedule for the year. The former Stanford player has decided to not play in a PGA Tour event before the Hero World Challenge in December. Woods also disclosed that he will be competing at the PNC Championship later that month. Here's a look into the news Bob Haring shared via X.

" Tiger said he will not play again before the Hero in the Bahamas and then the “fifth major the PNC.” "

Given his new schedule, Woods is set to miss the next 14 events on the PGA Tour. Fans speculate that his upcoming break will help the 15-time Major championship winner heal from his injuries to help him walk with ease on the course and enable him to swing pain-free.

Tiger Woods 2024 PGA Tour Results

Despite aiming to play in at least one tournament on the PGA Tour each month, Tiger Woods has only played in five events so far this year. He played in his first event of the season at the 2024 Genesis Invitational. However, he did not see the tournament through. Woods withdrew from the tournament during the second round citing an illness.

Following the withdrawal at the Genesis Invitational, Woods went on to make his only cut of the year at the 2024 Augusta Masters. He finished tied for 60th place with a four-day score of 16 over par. He then went on to miss the cut at the PGA Championship, US Open, and the Open Championship.
