While Tiger Woods will not be a part of Team USA, his former coach has shared his opinion on the 2025 Ryder Cup's volunteer policy. The tournament will be played at Bethpage Black Golf Course from September 23 to 28 in Farmingdale, New York.
Selected volunteers are required to pay a $350 fee. Woods' ex-coach, Hank Haney, took to his 147 thousand followers on X to repost the news with a one-word caption:
"Crazy."
According to Sports Illustrated's Matt Vincenzi, the PGA of America committee will provide volunteers with "an event uniform, a drawstring bag, a Ryder Cup pin, food during the shift, and a tournament credential" for the price of $350. Apart from the cost of volunteering, several fans and Tour players are outraged by the prices of the spectator tickets.
Spectator tickets will retail for $750 via the official Ryder Cup channels. Next year's edition will see a three-fold increase in pricing compared to 2023 in Rome. PGA Tour sensation Joel Dahmen took to his X platform to say:
"Have you seen the insane ticket prices to next year's Ryder Cup?! Lemme see if I can pull some strings here..."
