Tiger Woods' former coach Hank Haney took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to engage in a lighthearted debate. He offered a firm answer to a question about the prestigious Masters tournament that's been circulating on social media.
The discussion stemmed from NUCLR Golf's video that asked golfers if they thought they could win the Augusta Masters without ever leaving the green. The conditions stated that all other players would play each hole from their regular allocated championship tee box, while the individual would start the hole from the farthest point on the green and would only have to putt.
Known for his blunt responses to golf questions, Haney responded to the question by writing (via X @HankHaney):
"The answer is NO if you are above a certain handicap and it’s not as high as you think."
The speaker in the original video talked about the immense difficulty of Augusta National's greens. He said that he'd like to believe that he could win just by putting, but acknowledged that such a feat was unlikely. The golfer said (via X @NUCLRGolf):
"I'd like to think that I could. But the answer is probably no. And that demonstrates just how good these guys are. Because, some of those greens, I would 5, 6, or 7 putt because they're really hard greens. And I think if I was just putting, at Augusta [National], I don't think that I could do it."
