Born in Southport, England, on January 19, 1991, Tommy Fleetwood is one of the highest earners in the PGA. In 2009, Fleetwood represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker Cup and was ranked third in the R&A's World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Turning professional in 2010, Fleetwood's first victory on the European Tour came in August 2013, when he won the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in a three-man sudden-death playoff.

Fleetwood has a total of ten professional wins, with seven on the European Tour, including two on the Rolex Series, the 2017 HNA Open de France and 2019 Nedbank Golf Challenge. He finished runner-up at the 2019 Open Championship, being defeated by six strokes by Shane Lowry. However, after his Nedbank win in November, he had to endure a two year winless drought and then he won the 2022 Nedbank Golf Challenge.

He lost the RBC Canadian Open playoff to Nick Taylor, but he still made history in 2023 by becoming the first person to shoot multiple final round scores of 63 in U.S. Open history. However, he won the inaugural Dubai Invitational and tied for third place at the Masters with Collin Morikawa and Max Homa, recording his best finish of the event.
