The English Olympian Tommy Fleetwood has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics while representing Great Britain, along with fellow Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick. He also played at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing 16th in the men's individual event. He turned professional in late 2010 and played on the European Tour, having already played on the Challenge Tour.

Fleetwood has a total of 11 professional wins, including seven on the European Tour. He joined the PGA Tour as well in 2018 and has not won a title on the tour as of July 2024; however, he came pretty close to winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open but lost in a playoff to Nick Taylor. Fleetwood achieved victory at the 2024 Dubai Invitational, defeating Thriston Lawrence and Rory McIlroy with a birdie-birdie stroke in the final round. Furthermore, in the 2024 Masters, he tied for third place with Collin Morikawa and Max Homa, marking his highest Masters finish to date.

What is Tommy Fleetwood’s nationality?

Tommy Fleetwood’s nationality is English. He was born on January 19, 1991, in Southport, Merseyside, England.

Golf as a sport made its 112-year comeback to the Olympics at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, and Justin Rose won a gold medal for Great Britain. In 2020, Fleetwood and Paul Casey participated in the Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately, though, they were unable to take home a medal as Fleetwood finished tied for 16th place, while Casey tied for fourth place.

Fleetwood won the Dubai Invitational to start the 2024 season, and he finished T3 at Augusta National to record his best Masters result. He improved in the world rankings and earned a spot on the Great Britain Olympic Golf Team for 2024 as a consequence of these two finishes. Tommy’s Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) is No. 12 as of July 2024.

Fleetwood’s father, Pete, who also caddied for him earlier on, is pretty well known. They still live in Southhampton and were present at the 2017 Masters Tournament, which was the first major appearance for Fleetwood.

Pete Fleetwood put in a lot of hard work at building projects, according to the Liverpool Echo. So he used a trolley to transport Fleetwood's bag around the courses because the years had taken a toll on his knees. But because the use of trolly is prohibited on the European Tour, the association had to end.

Fleetwood also has a brother, Joe Fleetwood, who works as a player manager and commercial manager at Hambric Sports Group, where he represented Fleetwood until the beginning of 2016. Clare Craig, Tommy’s manager and wife, was formerly employed with the firm too.
