American professional golfer Milton Pouha "Tony" Finau is presently a member of the PGA Tour. On September 14, 1989, Tony Finau was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the 36-hole championship match, he defeated future PGA Tour player Daniel Summerhays to win the Utah State Amateur Championship in 2006. Being of Tongan and Samoan descent, Finau is the first player on the PGA Tour with such a background. Although Finau's brother Gipper could have fared better as a tournament professional, he made the cut in the Utah EnergySolutions Championship at 16. He is the cousin of former NFL football player Haloti Ngata and NBA basketball player Jabari Parker. The Tony Finau Foundation, which Finau oversees, works to empower young people and their families in the neighbourhood.
