#3 Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy has worked incredibly hard on his fitness over the last few years. As a result, he has seen a dramatic rise in his distance off the tee and is now one of the longest hitters in the world.
Rory does a great job of coiling and uncoiling through the ball. McIlroy along with his coach, Michael Bannon works on finishing his back swing as soon as his shoulders have stopped rotating so that his arms are not moving back as he starts his downswing. He also says that he likes to have the left arm as straight as possible and put himself in a position to turn through the ball without having to worry about the clubhead position.
McIlroy keeps his hands slightly ahead of the normal tour position at address but creates tremendous width on the way back. He drives his legs incredibly well through the ball and has great balance to complement that.
Rory uses the ground and snaps his hips through impact in a singular manner. It's a beautiful action that allows the 5'9" McIlroy to launch it.
McIlroy is riding high on confidence as he will look to break his major championship deadlock of two seasons. He won the 2016 FedEx Cup in an emphatic manner by holing out from the fairway with just two holes left to play in regulation.
