Madappa carded a second round score of 4-over-par 74 to slip 15 places down to 44th place. Viraj’s round consisted of 1 birdie, 3 bogeys and a double bogey on the par 4 17th hole. The overnight leader, Scott Harvey of the United States of America, shot a 1-under-par 69 in round two to slip to tie for second place. The current leader after two rounds is American Gavin Hall, with a total score of 8 under par.
Madappa is currently ranked #2 in the IGU Amateur Order of Merit and has been in great form recently with a two-shot victory over Singapore’s Gregory Foo at the Taiwan Amateur Championship in a field of around 70 players from all across Asia last month and at other international events.
The four-day, 72-hole tournament features the best amateur golfers from across the world including USA, Canada, France, Argentina, India, Australia and New Zealand among others.
