Viraj Madappa shoots an even par first round at the Porter Cup

Kolkata’s Viraj Madappa, who is 17-years-old, is the first Indian to take part in the prestigious Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club, USA. The teenager fired a first round 70 (even Par) to tie 29th at the opening round.

The four-day, 72-hole tournament features the best amateur golfers from across the world including USA, Canada, France, Argentina, India, Australia and New Zealand to name a few.

The leaders on day one at 6under par is American Scott Harvey from North Carolina. The tournament concludes on Aug 1.
