Bill Murray, a Hollywood legend, is also a beloved golf personality. Known for his performances on Caddyshack and Ghostbusters, he recently reflected on a golf moment from his movie Lost in Translation.

The $180 million worth actor (according to Celebrity Net Worth) delved into a scene where his character, Bob Harris, shows off a surprisingly graceful golf swing. In the humorous interview, Murray revealed that although the film is not about golf, the shot was one of the most natural moments he's ever delivered on the big screen.

The scene in the movie is set up in a very scenic course as Murray's character tees it and smashes a drive that ends up travelling a whopping 294 yards. He was so amused by the distance that he had to reiterate it twice during the interview. The Hollywood star said (via X @GolfersJournal):

"I hit it and I hit the hell out of it. 294 yards. That was with a Persimmon Honma. 294 yards. The director, bless her heart, as we say, said, 'Could you do one more?" I said, 'Not like that I can't."

The Persimmon driver from Honma is one of the most iconic wooden golf clubs in the history of the game. Here's a look at the moment shared by the actor and golf enthusiast (via X @GolfersJournal):

The host of the interview was so captivated by the swing that he even went to the theater alone to witness it on the big screen when the movie was released in 2003.

Bill Murray and his brother launch a golf apparel company

Bill Murray and his brother, Joel, have launched a successful golf apparel company named William Murray Golf in collaboration with the Chive. Launched in 2019, the brand now offers clothing, hats, and accessories for men and women.

In an exclusive interview with People magazine, the Ghostbusters movie star's brother said:

"All of us Murray brothers grew up caddying so we have a true passion and respect for the game. Regarding the current on-the-course looks; what the players were wearing in the ’70s were much more interesting than most of what you see out there today. With William Murray Golf, we’re looking for that perfect combination of style, humor and subtle irreverence as a way to make things more laid back, relatable and fun."

Their most popular item remains to be their iconic polos. The retro-modern fusion style shirts range from $88 to a whopping $92 on the brand's official website. The use of buttery soft moisture wicking fabric in the apparel justifies the cult favorite.
