Brooks Koepka finished tied for 42nd place at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational that was played in Nashville, Tennessee, earlier this week. Despite the LIV Golf star's mediocre finish, his team, Smash GC, finished second on the overall team leaderboard with a score of 12 under par for all three rounds of the tournament.
Koepka and his wife, Jena Sims Koepka, remained in Nashville despite the tournament ending on June 23. The couple chose to spend last night at the Barstool Nashville sports bar and watch the NHL final.
It was the Oilers versus Panthers in the NHL Final. Brooks Koepa and Jena Sims Koepka's favorite hockey team is the Panthers, which made the occasion all the more exciting for them. The LIV Golf star was ecstatic as their team won by a score of two to one.
Sims captured the moment and recorded Koepka's reaction to the Panthers' victory. The Sports Illustrated model took to her TikTok platform to share the reaction with the caption:
" POV: your team finally wins "
In the video, Brooks Koepka can be seen holding his hands to his head, in anticipation of the final buzzer to go off to clinch the Panthers' victory. The Smash GC captain went on to celebrate by jumping up and down and hugging his friends.
All you need to know about Brooks Koepka and his wife, Jena Sims
Brooks Koepka first approached Jena Sims in 2015 through a direct message on Instagram. Following some time spent conversing, the two finally met in person at the 2015 Masters.
Kopeka, the former PGA Tour star, was in the middle of his round at Augusta National when he spotted Jena Sims among the spectators. Koepka went on to greet Sims with a hug and even met her family that evening after completing his round.
Koepka and Sims started dating soon after and got engaged in 2021. The couple made it official and tied the knot in 2022 before welcoming their firstborn child, Crew Sims Koepka, into the world on July 27, 2023.
Jena Sims had to have a cesarean section procedure to deliver the baby. Crew Sims Koepka's breech position during Sims' pregnancy warranted the surgery to facilitate a safe delivery. The child had to spend about six weeks in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to fully develop because he was born six weeks earlier than the anticipated due date.
Crew and Jena Sims were discharged from the hospital once they were declared healthy after the six week duration. The Koepkas have since, made plenty of beautiful memories. Both Jena Sims and Crew are present at almost every one of Brooks Koepka's LIV Golf tournaments to offer him encouragement.
Here's what Koepka had to say following his fourth victory in the Saudi-based league at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational in Singapore in May:
"It's something I've always dreamed of, is having Jena and Crew there when I win. It's super special and something I'll never forget."
