The 2024 Scottish Genesis Open is underway at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scottland. Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, and Collin Morikawa are through fourteen holes on the opening day.

The Renaissance Club's par four eighth hole witnessed a one-in-ten-thousand shot. Ludvig Aberg played an amazing drive on the 448-yard hole. Faced with 148 yards to the pin, he played a nice fade with a ball speed of 119 miles per hour and apex at 129 feet.

Collin Morikawa had played his second shot on the hole before Aberg as his ball was just three feet behind the latter's ball. With Morikawa's shot landing just a few feet beyond the hole, Aberg perfectly emulated his playing partner's shot.

The ball landed directly on top of Morikawa's ball, knocking both balls off the green. Here's a look at this incident at the Renaissance Club's par four eighth hole during the first round of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open.

As per USGA rules, Morikawa was allowed to replace his ball to its original position and went on to hole the putt for a birdie on the hole. However, Aberg had to play from the same place where his ball came to rest.

Aberg had 36 feet and two inches to the hole from the rough. He failed to make an up-and-down to save for par and settled for bogey. The bogey neutralised his birdie on the previous hole to move him back to one under par.
