The Solheim Cup is scheduled to start this week at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, featuring a showdown between Team USA and Team Europe. Megan Khang and Emma Talley are set to represent Team USA beginning on September 13th.
Khang and Talley recently shared behind-the-scenes secrets from the 2024 Solheim Cup and provided a tour of the United States team room.
Khang showcased the shuffleboard, followed by a cozy hangout area featuring Polaroids, wine, and beer. Each golfer has their own cubby with personal memorabilia. There's also a spacious entertainment area with a personalized ping pong paddle and a karaoke machine for music and singing.
Team USA currently holds the overall lead with 10 victories, while Team Europe has secured 7 wins in the history of this biennial event. In the previous competition, the Solheim Cup ended in a tie, but Europe retained the trophy due to their status as defending champions.
The captainship for both Team USA and Team Europe remains unchanged from the previous tournament. Stacy Lewis continues to lead Team USA, while Suzann Pettersen captains Team Europe.
